Let's Study the Moon!

There are lots of interesting things about the moon. We are going to learn about some of the different phases of the moon, why the moon looks like it is changing shapes, a special kind of full moon called a "Blue Moon", and what happens when the we have a lunar eclipse.

Demonstration with light and globe.

Talk about "Blue Moon" and look at a calendar.

Use Kids Search to look up pictures of a Blue Moon.

Choose your favorite moon phase to illustrate on black paper.

Read a moon poem and talk about rhyming scheme.
